TESTS AND RESULTS

WHAT CAN BE TESTED?

 
At the Youth Centre, you can be tested for the following sexually transmitted diseases/viruses/bacteria:
 

– Chlamydiosis
– HIV-infection
– Gonorrhoea
– Syphilis
– Mycoplasmas (tests that are not taken during ordinary check-ups for venereal diseases)
– Hepatitis B and C
– Herpes
– Bacterial vaginosis
– Fungal infections
– Pap test (performed on women from the age of 25)
 
If there is a corresponding indication, the following is done:
– Ureaplasma
– HPV
 
Tests related to the detection of pregnancy:
– Ultrasound
– Venous blood sample test

RESULTS

 
Tests have been performed, but how do you get the results?
 
If your test result is negative ‒ which means you do not have a disease ‒ we will not contact you.
 
If your test result is positive ‒ meaning that you have a disease – we will phone you or send you an e-mail.
 
Therefore, please make sure that accurate contact details are shared and updated as necessary.
 

RAPID TEST FOR HIV

An HIV rapid test can also be done in the youth counselling centre. Testing is anonymous and free of charge and only takes a few minutes.
 
Pre-registration for HIV rapid test is not necessary, testing is done in a live order. The result will be known within minutes.
 
Blood samples are taken from fingerstick. Rapid tests are as accurate as vein testing. However, for the rapid test to be reliable, at least 10-12 weeks must have passed from the infection.
